Keep your holiday lights up!

Important: Denverites keep their holiday lights up until the Western Stock Show Ends!

It has been reported that decorating the outside of a home with lights for the holidays started right here in Denver in 1914! And that by 1943 the city's Civic Center light display was so impressive that it was decided that the lights would stay on so that tourists coming into town for the Stock Show could see the magnificence. Personally, I LOVE holiday lights. They bring light and joy into our neighborhood streets during the year's darkest days. I am so glad I live in a city that gives me an excuse to keep them on well into January!  This year the Stock Show starts with the Parade on Jan 5th (this year's Grand Marshal is Dr. Temple Grandin!!)  and ends on Jan 22nd.
